Nicole Sklar, ERYT500 is a registered yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance. Nicole was introduced to Yoga at the age of 13, when she was diagnosed with scoliosis, an abnormal curvature of the spine. Doctors suggested beginning the practice of yoga, to prevent the need for surgery.
Nicole attended Prescott College for Adventure Education and Cultural Anthropology, emphasis on Latin America. She spent 3 years studying in Mexico, Central America, and South America (Peru and Colombia) during her college career and graduated in 2014.
In 2011 between semesters in college, Nicole completed her first 200hour Yoga Training in Traditional Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Tantra, Vedanta, and Aryuveda with Chidanandi Cherokee, in the Alpha Omega Yoga School, Nayarit, Mexico.
She has since completed other trainings in Ashtanga Yoga, 26 & 2, and classical yoga, in India and Mexico, and has more than 1000 hours logged of trainings. She believes that education is a forever journey with yoga.
Nicole moved to Lake Tahoe in 2017, fell in love with the beautiful landscape, became very involved with the yoga community, and made it home for 6 years.
She continues to teach and host retreats internationally based between Mexico, Peru, and California in the U.S. She is fascinated by rich cultures and has a thirst to experience breathtaking landscapes. It is her passion to share adventure, exploration, mindful movement with others and her passion to co-create experiences and memories to last a lifetime.
Nicole believes that a balanced existence is created with regular mindful movement, time in nature, quality time with loved ones, and sharing positive experiences with others. She believes that a wealth of knowledge is gained from new experiences, often abroad, from other cultures and with new friendships. She believes that taking care of our bodies and tuning in to the heart should be a priority. She is committed to sharing this recipe and weaves it into experiences created.
Today Nicole teaches a variety of yoga styles including Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Hatha Vinyasa, Power Vinyasa, Meditation, and Bikram Yoga.
